1. John Resig - Processing.js (via):

   I've ported the Processing visualization language to JavaScript, using the Canvas element.

   Impressive, to say the least.

2. Beanstalkd - Software - xph.us (via). "beanstalkd is a fast, distributed, in-memory workqueue service. Its interface is generic, but is intended for use in reducing the latency of page views in high-volume web applications by running most time-consuming tasks asynchronously." Client libraries in Ruby, Python, Perl, and Erlang atm.
