CouchDb

CouchDb. Non-relational dbms written in Erlang, has a REST-ful JSON-based API.

Here's a little GUI frontend that someone wrote.

There's some overlap here between Lucene and CouchDb, but I'm not sure what it is. (Some of the above links via Simon)

CouchDB actually uses Lucene for fulltext search :-)
And then it make a lot of things different to make it a match for other problems than the ones Lucene solves.
