Update: Eric Gunnerson had a post a year and a half ago on Microsoft's "wait and see" attitude towards AOP. Good comments. Having to inherit from ContextBoundObject is unworkable.

AOP is such a solution in search of a problem that it utter, completely boggles the mind.

My theory is that academic types who missed the boat on the whole "Object Oriented" thing were just out to come up with a new "Oriented" to write papers, books, and hold conferences about.
