Actually, MMS is not the same as SMS. MMS stands for something like Multimedia Message Service, which is the service that lets you send pictures, and attachments to phones or email addresses. SMS, however, just sends a text message to another phone. Quite often, (or at least in the UK) MMS is about three times as more expensive to send a message.
