Dave asks what if Google's Web Accelerator modifies content. The Coral developers thought about the same question from a different direction: How can a proxy prove that it didn't modify the content? Once you think about it that way, the answer becomes obvious: Web servers can sign content. Google could show its good intentions by leading the development of an HTTP signature extension.
Interesting. Though it seems unlikely to me that proxies would alter web content, since whatever benefits could be had would largely be outweighted by any consequences of the act's discovery. But, no harm in being sure, and being able to ensure. Incidentally, I haven't linked to Dave, even indirectly, in years.
