It surprises me that people like you still think like you do even after the Iraqi election. You'll never admit you were wrong. "Freedom is a strange concept"... WTF?

Sorry for being unclear, you have guessed I am not writing in my own language.
It also surprises me that people like you still think like you do : US was so kind to give them freedom so why do they hate US more than anything in the world?
Obviously, most of those 25 million people will never admit they were wrong neither.

Yes, they were clearly better off under Saddam while he was filling mass graves. You obviously have their best interests at heart.

Ahh, Amy Ridenour has a post that, while directed at another source, is extremely applicable to this conversation. She says what I've been wanting to say so much better than I could have said it.

Let me just say that it's not a matter of being right or wrong, republican or democrat, american or french...
You claim it is self-evident this war was good thing.
I claim that living in Irak for the simple citizen is much terrible today than it was one and half year ago.
If I understand you right, your bet is that this period of terror will bring something good for them.
At least, I sincerly hope it is true, but i'm quite pessimistic.
Concerning the link you send, there's no doubt about it : you won the war Congratulations!

Then you're simply misinformed. Maybe you also don't think living under dictatorship is that bad.
The reason I pointed out Amy's post is that I think it addresses well how your idea that "freedom is a strange concept, very hard to catch sometime" is mere bigotry -- in other words, you think Arabs (or Muslims) are such üntermenschen that they can't handle being free, or wouldn't understand what to do with freedom if they had it. It comes across as deeply racist to hold that Arabs' natural state is to live under dictatorship, or to say that they're better off not being free. The hypocrisy here is that you say all this while believing that you really have their interests in mind.

I guess you are right and I am misinformed.

Well, if you'd like to justify your statement I'd be interested to hear your reasons why you think "living in Irak for the simple citizen is much terrible today than it was one and half year ago". But I suppose neither of us want to continue with this.

Reading this I can not help from wondering wether it is self-evident for those 25 million people you are talking for...
Freedom is a strange concept, very hard to catch sometime.
