Thanks Unfortunately, Firefox only shows the Unicode-glyph version in the status bar, but shows the entity-escaped version in the address bar. Konqueror, and IIRC Opera, show the glyph version in the address bar too. There are actually at least a couple of heart characters in Unicode, so I had to pick one... sigh.
