It seems my site was down again

Argh, why can't I find a host who can keep my site up for more than a few days at a time?! (And, who knows when things have been down when I'm not looking.) My site at TextDrive was just down for at least a half hour (again, I don't know how long it was down before I looked), and now that it's up I still can't access my webmail.

Update: It's up, they were apologetic (some system script hosed things and they had to get it back up manually), and I've calmed down

Update: Grr! Now my server's overloaded and slow.

And... Back to normal.

Yeah, at the time things were down neither the network or the server itself were down. My server was actually up and accessible, but was refusing all connections as some services were down.

What you need to do is work for the company that host your site. At least then you can use Terminal Services, ssh, or whatever your poison is, to fix things yourself.

And you always know when it's going down for maintainence. Usually because you're the one doing it.
