I meant what I said, and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful, one hundred percent! – Horton (Horton Hears a Who, Dr. Seuss)

  1. Jack Kemp: Framework for tax reform. Kemp heaps praise on the president's tax advisory panel and discusses Lawrence Hunter's and Stephen Entin's Framework for Tax Reform document prepared for the panel.

I'm very hopeful for what Bush will do for tax reform after he gets his Social Security agenda plan passed (and he will).

  3. Dave on VI vs. Emacs:

Think of a mode as a martial arts stance; you can only do certain moves from each stance.

    Awesome.

  5. Captain's Quarters: Kojo And Benan About To Star In Senate Investigation, via Glenn:

Kofi Annan should resign. He won't, of course, and the member states will once again issue paeans to his leadership. That demonstrates that this corruption is no anomaly at Turtle Bay, but it exemplifies the way people expect to do business at the UN.

I'm hopeful that the Senate's investigation of Oil for Food led by Norm Coleman will be more effective than Paul Volcker's.

  6. Patrick Ruffini has a very interesting map and analysis of the Iraqi election results, via Glenn.

Update: Ali has more observations, and writes that voter turnout might actually be much higher than has been reported due to overestimation of eligible voters.

It seems my site was down again

Argh, why can't I find a host who can keep my site up for more than a few days at a time?! (And, who knows when things have been down when I'm not looking.) My site at TextDrive was just down for at least a half hour (again, I don't know how long it was down before I looked), and now that it's up I still can't access my webmail.

Update: It's up, they were apologetic (some system script hosed things and they had to get it back up manually), and I've calmed down Smiley

Update: Grr! Now my server's overloaded and slow. Smiley mad

And... Back to normal.
