Thanks for the gesture, Keith, but it's you who needs perspective. These dead Iraqi civilians are more than numbers/statistics, they were real people in families and communities. They simply had the misfortune of being born at the wrong time and living in the wrong place.
I struggle with your cold rationale, and I'm curious how you reconcile it with your christian faith. Unless I'm reading it wrong-- isn't your message here that statistically/historically the 30,000 est. figure (or 2,100 coalition deaths) pales against other conflicts/disasters/mortality rates?
Please let me know if I've misunderstood, because it comes across as very relativist. As in: Hey, look on the bright side, only 30,000 people died! Fewer deaths = more noble cause!
