What I like about Mr. Spolsky is that he tries to find the right tool for the job, and will use it without prejudice. Your typical Java developer would scoff at the idea of using Access and would go off and spend weeks trying to produce a Java solution. The Java solution would, of course, run very slowly and look absolutely horrible.
