Bill Hobbs: The Budget Is NOT The Economy (Via Donald Sensing):
Here's some news from the presidential campaign that indicates that John Kerry has no clue what he is talking about. The story says Kerry pointed to the "record" $422-billion-dollar budget deficit predicted by the Congressional Budget Office as a new sign of Bush's inability to run the economy.
Memo to Sen. Kerry: The federal budget is not the economy. Repeat: "the budget" is not a synonym for "the economy."
The budget is how the government's annual spending plan. The economy, on the other hand, is the country's system of production and distribution and consumption. The health of the economy is determined by trillions of little economic decisions made by millions upon millions of people every day.
The federal budget is not the economy, it is a tax on the economy. John Kerry knows something about taxes - in the Senate he voted to raise taxes 98 times.

First Kerry says that he would have voted for the war in Iraq even knowing what he knows now, but now he says that it was the wrong war at the wrong time. He also recently specifically referred to the war in Iraq as part of the War on Terror.
Update (via IP)
On December 16, at Drake University in Iowa, Kerry [responded to Howard Dean] that "those who doubted whether Iraq or the world would be better off without Saddam Hussein, and those who believe today that we are not safer with his capture, don't have the judgment to be president or the credibility to be elected president."
