Do you really "hate" Canada because their counterterrorism is inept?

I don't really hate Canada at all. If the title is what all the hullaballoo is about, then it's unfortunate I chose that word back then. Of course, I don't like Canada. I always make fun of their national anthem when I hear it on the Olympics and stuff, because I think it sucks. I think Canada kind of sucks. Though, I was actually trying to get a job with a Canadian company a few years back when I was working, so I'm willing to work there at least. I hear Vancouver is a nice place.

Anyway, the title of that post could have easily been something like "Even more reason to 'blame Canada'", modelled after South Park. Or I could have said "Even more reason to love Canada" and said it tongue-in-cheek. That people have focused on the title instead of the content is unfortunate.

Also, it's not that their counterterrorism is inept. Rather, from what I understand, they just don't put much effort at all towards it. IIRC, some of the 9/11 hijackers made their way here through Canada (though, I want to check that to be sure).

There are SEVERAL HUNDRETS of countries in the world.

I BET, that there are at least more than one person in EVERY country of the world, who hates the U.S. of A.

Or the politics there.

Or the lack of reasonable interpretion of the things happening ... especially outside of the USA.

"Lybia, France, Germany ... and Canada", eh? "The Axis-Of-The-.... ok, lets say, "unwilling". eh?

For YOU, there is no doubt in whatever GWB says.

But let me remind you on something: even GWB has NOT written the Bible. He IS nothing but a Human. And humans may fail.

I had hoped my comment about people avoiding the subject matter would serve to forestall other irrelevant comments. I suppose that was naïve.

Well lad I stumbled across this little blog of yours and was amazed at the vehement and baseless responses to your original Hate Canada Post. I actually laughed quite hard reading some of the posts and your own as all of them did not have all the information. I would easily concede that Canada has not done enough cracking down on Security but then again are we responsible for who comes into the United States? I would say no. Each country should be checking who comes in and how long they are staying and what not and I'm pretty sure they do.
We just let lots of people of different ethnicities and backgrounds come here and that is why I think we're viewed as a safe haven for terrorists. By 2017 the majority of this country will be immigrants from other countries which I think is a good thing. I'm a Canadian and as Patriotic as the next lad and I realize that we are in need of some serious political, economic and security reforms but then again every country does. We're all a long way off from being able to tolerate each other and living under and international governing body (which I hope will happen someday). I thought you might enjoy a post that did not avoid the subject and go onto a U.S. bashing parade. I don't hate any countries just the people that control them that includes Canada's leaders as well.

Canada sucks lets face it, it's not really the older gen, because they know what America sacrifice during the pass so Canadians can live like they do today. It's the selfish, self-centered youth of Canada that are ignorant & cannot see more then a month into the future or the past. I could go on but I do not respect Canadians in anyway. Sorry

My thoughts on some (yet most of the ones I've dealt with) Canadians are as such:
Rarely willing to be wrong, 100% willing to point the fingers on others espeically the US. I debated with a canadian once... OMG it was worse than arguing with my female friends. And their conclusion was, "canadians are so much better than americans".

That in a nutshell is the attitude of Canada. And is why I feel they have room to improve. The government reflects this belief they are perfect and will VEHEMENTLY defend themselves and point to a lesser example.

Take a look at the recent Japanese beef issues. They were QUICK to hark that Canadians had better safety regulations than the United States.

Yeah , the Candians I have met in Japan are some seriously immature people with fucked up values and just a broken record player spouting insults abotu America. Actually I meet a lot of those people here, they usually are just misinformed. After they get to know me, etc it becomes "well MOST Americans are morons". I dont argue with that because , from what I have found, most people on the planet are morons! cant take offense to that hehe.

and Japan is anal as hell about rules and regulations. WTF was America thinking! Be more careful. America will be lucky to get Beef back in here in our lifetimes! hehe

Yes, nationalistic Canadians really show their irrationalness very quickly. I see it everyday as I am surrounded with nationalistic Canadians, here in Canada. It never ceases to dissappoint me how these (not all Canadians are nationalistic) deride American nationalism as boorish and yet the Canadian nationalists exhibit the same behaviour as the Americans they despise so much.

I remember when the Gordon Sinclair editorial (titled "The Americans" I think) was being played so much after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. I thought to myself, it was not the time to play that, wait a few years, then it will be the time. The editorial is relavent now. But of course, the Canadian nationalists with their irrational haughty superiority complex lost the entire sentiment of the editorial. All so predictable.

Hey, this is an unfair post. Im canadian and im not hating americans. nor do i hate canada. I love them both. I love the US, and its history they have done alot but it doesnt mean we havent either. The viewpoints given here are totaly wrong, we canadians are pretty much the same as you americans, we watch teh same tv, we drive teh same cars, we are influinced by the same media. Were no diffrent from you so dont go ranting on about us, dont stab your brother in the back.

Like I said above, no one seems capable of actually understanding or discussing what this post is actually about. Thread closed.
