Heh, why single out American politicians? In any case, it's funny. Not just the fact that he was getting his hair done, but how long he was getting his hair done, especially since he's known as the "silky pony" for his hair. And, can you imagine Bush whipping out a compact?!

Not Irish politicians, if you've seen any of them, anyway!

I can imagine almost any politician doing that, obsessed with their image as most of them, with reason, are. True though, Edwards is a mite more obsessed with being all pretty than one'd expect.
