That article wasn't about price gouging, it was about price spikes due to, I gather, ordinary fluctuations in supply and demand. But, for price gouging -- of course it's not always you're "friend" (I think about when the Starbucks in Manhattan were charging firefighters for water on 9/11... that was evil). But it was interesting to have someone point out that even price gouging can serve a good economic purpose.
