Reading stuff like this makes me think that it was a good thing that we delayed taking the city from April to November. Not only were we of course able to run a much better campaign against the city by waiting and planning (it probably would have been a total mess if we'd gone in in April), but it seems we gave the insurgents plenty of time to make Fallujah their base of operations. They really invested in Fallujah, and now that we've taken their sanctuary away from them (and killed and captured boatloads of them), it seems they're worse off now then they would have been had things not transpired this way. Interesting.
