Mrs Budd's chicken pot pies are good, but why must they use hydrogenated soybean oil??? Everything is so fresh and good about it...why use any hudrogenated oil?

i don't know what chicken pie you people have had, but i had one last night 6/6/06 omen day, and i want to tell you it was the worst pie i have ever had. very little chicken, a few peas, and the same on the carrots. it was the ultimate version. must have been ultimate on crust and sauce because it sure wasn't ultimate on chicken and veggy's. the worst of the worst, the machine must have run out of ingredients and had to scrap the sides for the last two boxes. my wife and i had one and my teen son had the other. my wife and i had to make some mashed potatoes to absorb most of the sauce and a can of peas so that we at least had something for dinner, because the chicken wasn't enough that's for sure. very disappointed...

Just gagged down some of Mrs. Budd's chicken pie. I paid $4.79 for this awful thing. The chicken was tough, the broccoli consisted of a couple of the seeds from the flower, and the gravy was a thickened, almost clear mess. How could Mrs. Budd put her name on this? Mrs. Budd, if this is a New England favorite, you should return to the test kitchen and make something to redeem yourself and the reputation of the entire Budd clan.

I bought a 4 pack of 9 oz pies and have to say it doesn't come close to Marie C's pies! They do not have enough veggies,I could almost count six each peas and carrots and use the sauce to fill the pie. When you check ingredients, first thing is chicken broth, so that's the major ingredient, then comes chicken meat and then way down the list comes more dehydrated chicken meat, what's with that? Bottom line is no more Mrs Budd's for me. I also faxed your column to them, rather than just bitch about it.

I had my first Mrs. Budd's Chicken pot pie 10 or so years ago on the westside of Los Angeles. It was the best then and still is. It has large chucks of white or white and dark (your choice) and hearty amounts of veggies. It is the best refrigerated or frozen pot pie on the market. Marie Calendar, Swanson or Banquet can't hold a stick to Mrs. Budd. So anymore that does not like it, what a better alternative...I try it.

As to Mrs. Budd's chicken pie. Crust on top only way to thick.
Pie consists or more (crust) than anything else. NO, there is not enough chicken or veggies. Can hardly find the chicken. This was the 36 oz. pie and it cost me $8.00. Definitely not worth the money. I'd rather have small banquet pot pies and buy more than one. They seem to have more in them, are real pies, tasty and real insides to them.

I was dissappointed with the chicken pie that I had heard so many great things about. Two few chunks of chicken, two many peas, and would have perfered top and bottom crust.
Thank you,

chicken pie. It's dough is made of pastry flour, the sauce is a rich supreme sauce and there is a generous supply of tender chicken and vegetables - it's a treat!

I enjoyed your chicken pot pie far superior than the frozen ones.
Also enjoy just having the top crust.
Will continue to buy them.
Thank you.

I was confused when I purchased the pie. The date says use
or Freeze by MAR 06. At first I thought it meant 2006. Too
old to even eat. I returned it to the store for a refund.
It wasn't until I went to the meat case and found out that
MAR 06 is the day. Is this correct?
I don't mind eating these pies once in a while, they have too
many calories for me to consume.

Well, guess what, I just finished eating one of these. This is the most disgusting pot pie I have ever tasted. They have the nerve to cite this as the ultimate chicken pie? NO CRUST except for the top. Am I supposed to eat the aluminum foil and pretend it's crust? Further, the flour-based gravy was tasteless. Big white chunks of DEHYDRATED chicken - in a FRESH pot pie?
I paid $5 for two of these nasty pies - the other one is going back. I seeked the name of this company and I want a complete refund!
