I tried this as well and it looked great at first, but for some reason it didn't stick. I have yet to find a good virtual desktop manager for Windows. I've been looking for a while, but haven't found anything solid and reliable that works like I expect it to. It's too bad I forgot why I gave up on virtual dimension...
