"New Theory: Universe Created by Intelligent Being"

New Theory: Universe Created by Intelligent Being

That sounds like it came straight of The Onion, but it's actually from National Geographic News.

Uh... but then he has a Mormon take on things??

He also says that collectively as intelligent beings we are entwined in our ultimate destiny: to give birth to another universe.

Yeah... I just finished reading the article. That guy's pretty out there.

Great article from Dennis Prager

Dennis Prager has written a great article: It's the heart versus the Bible

It is therefore frightening that hundreds of millions of people find no problem in acknowledging that their heart is the source of their values. Their heart knows better than thousands of years of accumulated wisdom; better than religions shaped by most of the finest thinkers of our civilization (and, to the believer, by God); and better than the book that has guided our society -- from the Founders of our uniquely successful society to the foes of slavery to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and most of the leaders of the struggle for racial equality.

This elevation of one's heart is well beyond self-confidence -- it is self-deification.

One of the first things you learn in Judaism and Christianity is that the eyes and heart are usually terrible guides to the good and the holy. " . . . (D)o not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after" (Numbers 15:39); "the heart is deceitful above all things . . . " (Jeremiah 17:9).

I'd like to refer you to another article by Prager I thought was excellent.

Spain has surrendered

This is the clearest evidence I've seen so far that Spain's surrender is exactly what was planned all along. Maybe it wasn't merely a coincidence that the attacks came just a few days before Spain's elections.

For the last year the Israeli historian Reuven Paz has monitored jihadist writings about Spain, which focused on the Spanish government's participation in Iraq. "In order to force the Spanish government to withdraw from Iraq," one online tract read, "it is a must to exploit the coming general elections in Spain." It added that two to three attacks would ensure "the victory of the Socialist Party and the withdrawal of Spanish forces," the first domino in the collapse of the American-led coalition.

The Spanish letting the terrorists influence their elections this way is the worst thing they could have done. It emboldens the terrorists and makes it a near-certainty that similar bombings will happen before elections elsewhere. It's a shame, but Spain has made the terrorists successful in this instance.

One of the most interesting things that has emerged through this episode is that it makes the Iraq war's relation to the war on terror unquestionable. The same people claiming that it led to the 3/11 bombing I would think are some of the same people who claimed that the war in Iraq has nothing to do with the war on terror. That seems to me like an implicit admission that those who thought Iraq was an important part of the war on terror were right.

Via Jihad Watch.
