I'm using Knoppix again as I have a need a local Linux machine. I wish that Knoppix was available with a 2.6 kernel already, but it won't be for a few weeks at least. Anyway, this is for me to collect all the boot settings I need to remember:
Here's a list of Knoppix cheatcodes. From that, it seems I'll need:
knoppix lang=us keyboard=dvorak xkeyboard=dvorak screen=1600x1200
I may need to specify "wheelmouse", but I've seen things that suggest it's enabled automatically in recent versions of Knoppix.
The main thing I now have to figure out is how to specify that my home dir and my configuration dir be directories on my D drive so that I can save things and forego typing the configuration every time.
Update: Ok, I should be able to get my config and my homedir back by specifying myconfig (or myconf)=/mnt/hdg1 or myconfig=scan and home=scan or home=/mnt/hdg1. And, it recognized my wheelmouse. It scrolled by a little too fast during boot, but I think it recognized my exact model.
But boy, fonts on linux just suck. I want to blame the browsers since some sites show up ok and others have fonts that are too tiny, but you'd think at least Mozilla would work correctly since it's cross-platform and uses the same rendering engine, but it doesn't.
