LGF: Here’s why prosecuting terrorism in the legal system is a drastic mistake

Indeed.

I've argued many times that international criminal courts (which this instance isn't even about) are impossible even in principle. How's it go again? "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." I've always heard that moral equivalency from the left, yet those are probably the type of people who would support an international criminal court. Seems like an inconsistency to me.

There are two options for fighting terrorism. One, pursued by Clinton, and which would be persued by Kerry, is to treat terrorism as a criminal matter, where it's just a matter of prosecuting those who commit the attacks (never mind if they're suicide attacks). The other approach is to attack terrorism like fighting a war, which is the approach Bush has taken, and which has been wildly successful so far.
