American RealPolitik: U.N. Irresolution in Sudan. Great post.

So, like usual, the U.N. has firmly resolved to do...nothing. Yes, the group that holds the liberal moral high-ground and is the sanctioning body that Kerry feels should determine all U.S. foreign policy moves has sternly warned that if the atrocies which have gone on for far too long already continue for far too much longer, there is a remote, outside chance that they'll draft yet another resolution which will actually maybe contain much sterner language concerning what they aren't going to do.

It'd be funny if there weren't people dying.

4. Kerry's exploits in Vietnam are disputed in best seller - The Washington Times. Unfit for Command, to be released on September 25th, has "hit No. 2 on Amazon.com's best-seller list" and "quotes Mr. Kerry's fellow combatants as saying two of his Purple Hearts came from friendly fire, not the enemy."... "Retired Rear Adm. Roy Hoffmann, who commanded Mr. Kerry's task force in Vietnam... said yesterday he has supplied several instances of Mr. Kerry's purported lies. One example, he said, is Mr. Kerry's contention that he warned admirals of the folly of a certain river operation. Adm. Hoffmann said he and others were at the meeting, and that Mr. Kerry never made such a statement. "The real truth is he didn't say a ... word," Adm. Hoffmann said."
