www. is deprecated

I just came across no-www.org. Check it out. My site validates as "Class B", the "optimal no-www compliance level".

Class B no-www compliant

Though if Class B is the best, I wonder why they didn't make it Class A instead?

Here's their FAQ.

Only reason mine doesn't is that I echo the HTTP_HOST, so the front page always has the full URL that you go to, and so the content is different for every alias.

Class A is the most common, and not the best. The "best" for deprecating www is Class C. Class B is optimal, but not "best" (Class C means trying www. to access the site doesn't work at all).

So it seems they're in reverse, or are we?
