  1. Donald Sensing relays an awesome conversation between Dole and Kerry. Ouch. Update: fuller transcript at NewsMax, via Roger Simon.

  2. Laura Ingraham Show - Internet Streams. My friend Sean is supposedly going to be on the Laura Ingraham show briefly tomorrow, so I'm going to try to listen. It'll be a kick to hear him on the radio. (By the way... I looove Laura Ingraham.)

  4. Lambda the Ultimate: Goedel's Theorem and Theories of Arithmetic links to a book by Peter Smith on Goedel's theorem of which the first 12 chapters are available online. Printed for my bedtime reading enjoyment.

  5. A Large Regular: No Way to Run a Campaign chronicles the month of August so far for the Kerry campaign. A really entertaining recap. Via IP

  6. philosophy of as if -- Encyclopædia Britannica, via Roger Simon. The philosophy of "as if" supposes "that man willingly accept falsehoods or fictions in order to live peacefully in an irrational world.". Fascinating.

  3. TinyApps.Org : Blog: 8 in 1 compbo optical drive recommendation. He recommends the Plextor PX708-A which has: "8X DVD+R, 4X DVD-R, 4X DVD+RW, 2X DVD-RW, 12X DVD-ROM, 40X CD-R, 24X CD-RW AND 40X CD-ROM". TinyApps links to lots of positive reviews.

Browser feature I want

The browser is storing pages in its cache anyway. I want to be able to do a full-text search on everything in my cache over a given time frame (past day, two days, week, etc.). Indexing can be done in the background when no page is loading.

And, of course, I still really want TrailBlazer.

A bunch of articles about Kerry today

For whatever reason it seems like I read so much stuff on Kerry today:

Also today, Bob Dole speaks out (comments from Ann Althouse)

I think there was more, including some things about Bush, but I can't find them now.

Update: Now I remember. Donald Sensing has a challenge to Kerry supporters to write a guest post for his blog explaining why they support Kerry that gives substantiated reasons to support Kerry, not just be anti-Bush. In his status update to that challenge he links to three prior posts he's written criticizing Bush. I have to finish reading them, but they seem right on the money.

  1. Gaza Pullout Debate (to read), via LGF. Update: Good read, but it should have been like two pages shorter. The same points were made repeatedly.

Glenn Reynolds' vision of a parallel universe Kerry

Glenn Reynolds has a great vision of Kerry in a parallel universe. Must read. Incidentally, it contains a link to one of the first positive things I've ever heard about Kerry's entire career (this was the other one (via Simon), and it seems to be related -- I have to read both articles again more thoroughly). It's too bad he's spent his campaign focusing on four months of his life 35 years ago, huh?

Also, this response to Reynolds' parallel universe is a must read as well.

  1. Foreign Affairs - What Went Wrong in Iraq - Larry Diamond (to read) via InstaPundit.
