When your enemy is making a very serious mistake, don't be impolite and disturb him. – Napoleon Bonaparte (allegedly)

  1. Donald Sensing links to two news sites I hadn't heard of: RealClearPolitics links to opinion pieces around the web, and TruthfulNews.com is like a fark for conservative and political news.

  2. Mark Steyn has a fantastic article in the Telegraph: Do you want to sing Waterloo or fight it?, via LGF.

  4. Bush blog: Kerry is Foragainst Troop Realignment. That's gotta be one of the quickest flops ever, though it's second at least to Wesley Clark's 3 positions on the Iraq war in one weekend. Update: Here's commentary by Mark Steyn on this development, via LGF.

Note to webloggers: have your name and contact info prominently displayed on your site

Note to anyone with a weblog: Please have your name and contact information prominently displayed on your site. If I want to link to something you've written I like to do it with your real name rather than just the name of your site, and, well, a way to contact you would be nice. If your blog is anonymous, that's cool, don't put your name. But, you should at least have some method of contacting you available (besides having to leave a comment).

I don't mean to single this guy out, but his site is a perfect example.

Kranish on Kerry in Cambodia

When I read this article by "reporter" Michael Kranish[1], I had pretty much the same thoughts as Roger Simon did. First of all, that the article's title didn't reflect the contents of the article. Second, that rather than defending Kerry, the article makes the case against him seem even more damning because it highlights how many different versions there are of the story and how the Kerry campaign has tried to wiggle out of it. Third, there are no facts presented in Kerry's defense. Simon thinks that Kranish is distancing himself from Kerry with this article, and he's probably right.

Also, see here for a link to Donald Sensing's post discussing the claim about Kerry going to Cambodia "on a covert mission to drop off special operations forces" (quote from the Boston Globe article).

I'd like to quote something Roger Simon writes, because it's exactly what I've been bugged by:

I'm getting mighty sick of this subject... Kerry in Cambodia (or not)... and the idea that a man could base a Presidential Campaign in 2004 around four months' participation in the Vietnam War in 1968, no matter what he did, is absurd and pathetic...

But I usually think of it this way. The man is basing a presidential campaign on four months of his life that took place 35 years ago. It blows my mind.

Also see this for a bunch of links from InstaPundit. Pay attention to the quote from Hugh Hewitt.

  2. The Union Leader and New Hampshire Sunday News - Kathleen Parker: If Kerry sounds too good to be true, it’s because he is. Man, that article is brutal. I can't even excerpt it. Read the whole thing.

  3. Country Store has lots on the John Kerry/Bob Kerrey mixup. Ouch. Make sure you read his previous post for background. He has more on this.

Video specs

This is just for me. I'm making sure I know exactly what video modes are available to me between my monitor and my video card.

Also, this is so that I can get this correctly supported under Linux so...
