You're right, it is a little different. However, I might argue that Israel even has more reason to build walls than the EU does. The EU is just trying to protect itself against immigrants -- Israel is trying to protect itself against terrorists.
The Palestinians (Arafat) walked away from the last attempt to agree on defined borders. Then they launched a terrorist campaign against Israel. Unlike the EU, which has the luxury of deciding whether to build the wall, Israel is forced into building a wall. And it's worked spectacularly, by the way.
As for the borders: Ultimately, Israel is forced into doing unilaterally which couldn't be done through diplomacy. The Palestinians will get their own state, with borders defined for them.

I don't want to get into this loop, discussing about Israel and Palestine and who is right and who is wrong because we both know this is not going to end nicely (nor that we will end up agreeing). I am glad you see my point (the difference) though.
Very nice blog by the way (when it comes to coding), yet a bit too political for me
. I have posted some comments a couple of times. I also like the smiley. Is it yours?

Yeah, that may die down after the elections.
Or, maybe not.
The smiley I think I stole from Dave Winer's site a long time ago. One thing I can guarantee is that the only image on my entire site that is mine is my "KBD" logo on the upper left. Though, in fact, the logo was actually made for me by my friend Justin (ideoplastos), but was based on an older crappier version I had made. I don't do graphics, I do code.
I don't want to get into this loop...
Neither do I.
I am glad you see my point (the difference) though.
Indeed I do, and you were correct in pointing it out. I especially appreciate the politeness with which you made your point.

I am a PHP enthusiast too (1 1/2 year on it), and I started about 2 weeks ago my own weblog. I am now in the phase of a small redesign and comments implementation. But I have a loooong way to go yet.
I'm glad about the smiley. I can steal it too.
And yes, graphics are boring. Coding is fun!

Well, is it the same? Building whatever (each country can have its own borders in they way she wishes) around already formed, established and approved/recognized borders from the one hand, and surrounding cities in a place were it is at war and no borders have yet been agreed/formed on the other hand? I don't think I am absurd on this.
