WordPress

WordPress looks like it's shaping up to be an excellent piece of software. As of version 1.2 (currently in alpha, it appears), it supports slugs (short names for posts that appear in the URL -- the slug for this post is "WordPress").

Ah! Good old crappy CafeLog! Have to admire the WordPress guys for taking a steaming pile like that and turning it into a decent piece of software.

I agree.

My first blog experience was using cafelog, only because the free hosting service I used did not allow something like MT to run. I soon moved over to MT because of some of the advanced features.

At this point, WordPress is full-featured enough to be more usable than MT and developing so fast that it already has a large number of nice bonuses that aren't in MT.

This has led to a recent decision to move my blog "back" to WordPress, which is making me more and more happy as I get used to the system all over again.

WP rocks, they also have the best support forums I've seen anywhere.
