Dunno JC. I just installed a new version of Acrobat Reader myself and I'm about to take the steps outlined here. If it doesn't create the Ebooks folder it worked.

Actually, it turns out I don't even have most of the plugins he lists, nor do I have the ebooks plugin. I downloaded the minimal version, so that must be why. And, I just ran it without deleting any plugins first and it didn't create the ebooks folder. So, tip: use the minimal version and it won't create an eboooks folder.
