Boosting Trees applied to spam filtering?

I don't know what Boosting Trees are, but here are two papers that claim that this method will work better than Naive Bayesian methods of spam filtering. They're both called Boosting Trees for Anti-Spam Email Filtering (here's the second). I think they're essentially the same paper, though the formatting's different.
