Yeah, it really does. The first movie was just great, and the second and third they just kind of fell apart on.
What I've been thinking is that one of the things that made The Matrix so neat was that it supposedly took place in our world, right under our noses. The second and third (the third especially) show you almost no "real" people, and it takes pretty much everything away from the whole idea of the matrix, that "the wool is pulled over our eyes", etc. (For instance, in the second one, all I could think during the many-Smiths fight was "I wonder how this could be happening and no one see it")
Another comment I have is this: I remember one of the parody Matrix Reloaded reviews saying something like "I'm Neo, I'm practically invincible, and therefore the audience feels no danger, and is therefore bored". [SPOILER-->] So, whereas the second movie took place pretty much all in the Matrix, the third took place mostly in reality, so they tried to bring back a little bit of the danger. But you still didn't really care.

I really liked the second one, prefered it to the first, but the third one still sucked. While Neo was practically invicible in the second one, the fights that took place were still excellent, and the morpheous fights were good. However we had one fight inside the matrix (aside from the smith one) this film, and it wasnt' even a very good one.
And did anyone else get really annoyed it was so cheesy? The little kid who came good, and the guy's wife who saved him? Ah it was such an annoying film

Was i the only one that realised that the references to christianity were more symbolic than actually leading anyone to any closer to the spiritual truths mentioned in the Matrix movies..?
For example,
"Maya" - Illusion.
"Karma" - Cause/Effect.
"Dharma" - Duty.
"Sati" - Sacrifice.
"Cosmology" - Quantam mechanics & Human mind.
"Yoga" - Meditation.
are fundamental tenets of Hinduism, a 5000 year old Indian philosophy (of which Buddhism is based on.)

My friends who ran out and saw it today were disappointed as well.
I haven't heard a good review yet from people I know, actually, even my few friends who liked the second one.
A real bummer if you ask me, it looks like I'll be holding off on seeing it for a while.
This does add credence to what I said about those reviews I sent you earlier, though.
