Well... it definitely wasn't good. I'm not quite sure what it was.
There was actually a part towards the end where I think it was supposed to be kind of dramatic, but it was just comical and I actually burst out laughing really loud in the theater.
I almost want to say I hated it... but this gives me a great opportunity to invoke Steven Den Beste's neat observation: "I'm afraid it's contempt, not hatred. One has to respect those one hates."
I'm not sure if I'd go that far, but I wouldn't shy too far away from that either. I think it was better than the last one, at least, though that's not saying much. At least there was no 10 minute rave scene.
Update: I knew it would happen, but it happened faster than I expected. Here's a surprisingly accurate and definitely funny Matrix Revolutions parody script from Diego.
Update: Finished reading the parody script... very awesome. Better than the movie. He does leave out a few plot holes that I thought of while watching the movie, but I won't say them because I don't want to spoil anything.
My only conclusion after watching the third movie is that the W brothers just had no clue what to do with the trilogy. I was hoping the second would just be a bump and the third would redeem the trilogy... but no.
Update: Yet another reason to not trust Ebert's reviews anymore. He's becoming less reliable. You know he gave Gigli 2 1/2 stars? The highest rating out of any major movie reviewer. And another awesome negative review. I say another because Ebert's review on the whole seemed to be negative, but he seemed to give it a lot of credit for looking cool.
Update: if you gotta read more, here's Slashdot's post on it. This guy's comments are good.
Update: Ok, one more. See Rotten Tomatoes for more reviews.
