That list is good , but come on now....people seem to have forgotten games like Doom or Wolfenstein, not to mention Mortal Kombat, which was one of the first live-capture video games. How come these are not included, along with Elite and Donkey Kong and of course Pong?????

I'm not sure if I missed it (because I merely glanced it) but I noticed that Final Fantasy 7 wasn't there, but they let Final Fantasy 10 on the list. I'm sorry, but I think Final Fantasy 7 smoked FF10 out of the water.

Final Fantasy 7 should be number one. It is simply the best game ever

battletoad for Nes is hands down best game of all time.

Final Fantasy VII should have been in the top 20 at least. Total Annaihalation should have been there. Baldur's Gate should have been bumped up a bit. Deus Ex should have been in the top 5. Age of Empires II should have been in there somewhere. Windwaker deserves a place and ETERNAL DARKNESS! for crying out loud why not Eternal Darkness? That game is a singular experience. The survival horror genre will never get better. They had RE2 in there. The gamecube version of the first one is awesome, much better and Eternal Darkness easily better than both. And also I would have put in Call of Duty and Unreal, the first one.

Metal Gear solid should be # 1, it was the first game to make me get up out of my seat to beat a boss. FF7 is # 2, and circus maximus, although sucks is fun.

Everyone saying FFVII is misguided. FFVI (FFIII in USA) was infinitely better.

Final Fantasy should have been in the top 10. Not number one because IV (II) was better. But Mario should not have been #1! Even Zelda OoT would make a better #1, heck even the likes of Ragnarok Online.

Duke nukem's games,Commander Keen's,Lost viking, Alundra, Bioforge, Donkey kong country's, Need for speed's, Mortal Kombat's, Ken Griffey JR, Killer Instinct, LEMMINGS, Lufia's, Star Ocean's, Mario RPG, Nba jam tournaments, Primal rage, MYST!!, secrets of evermore, Kung Fu, Leisure suit larry's, Police quest's, Space Quest's, Top Gear's, vectorman, Army men 3d, ape escape, ace combat's.... so much more.. i feel like this list was not made by gamers at all! FFVII in 80s??!

and how about Return to Zork

so much time lost playing Super Black bass!! and WWF Royal Rumble, Track and Field, Battle Cars, AAAHH!!! Real Monsters!!.... how about a top 1000 videogame list next time!

i think halo should b in the top 10 games. I also think that halo is better than half life 2. Halo kind of revolutionized first person shooter games.4 me its the best game EVER!!!!!

i think that the best game is the golden sun games. or at least the best RPG!

i thought halo and halo 2 should have been a least around the top 5 AND FF 7 sould have been around the top 3 and of course who could forget Road Rash you ride motorbikes beating every one you se with a chain or some like that and Dawn of War Warhammer4000 was not in there conkers bad fur day total awseme but not in the list

Personally I think Stunt Car Racer and Ports of Call ougth to be in the list. Maybe Boulder Dash too.

Yes, and where is the game Terranigma. That game should definetly be on there and it's a shame that it's so underrated because it is actually quite good. I would even put it up against the likes of Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana.

This top 100 list is so screwed up. Like 90% of all the best games ever made aren't even on that list at all. Oh how Earthbound for SNES is underappreciated and unknown to many people. If people think that Earthbound is a bad game, then they are mental. Period. Tis' all I have to say about that.

Well.... if you want to prevent this, just add a feature which exposes the ip-address of each commenter.

Or, if you want to make it more sophisticated, expose it ONLY in those cases where a single ip-address has been used with more than one nick within a single thread.

And... if you want to have the same effect, but without exposing the ip-adress, add some logic that scrambles the address before showing it.

I've considered doing something like what Sam Ruby does anyway and and showing the host name. But I'm not sure if I should do that for privacy/anonymity(/security?) reasons. In any case, the case where some fool wants to play around isn't important enough for me to try to code around. I often just delete all of the person's comments

It feels slightly less private when your ip-address is exposed.

But then again, having someones ip-address, there's not much you can do with it, really... So, from that perspective it shouldn't be any problem exposing it.

Hey, being 11 years old I did not have a clue about some of the games there. it was a pretty stupid list any way ffVII and FFX should of been In at least the top 20 And where was knights of the old republic? Ah I guess everyone has a different opinion
