I figure I'll just post my AIM away message...
Auto response from Keith83 (14:08:11): Taking a bath and shaving, because I have to look kempt for my brother's video project I'm being interviewed for (he didn't tell me it was a video interview until today, after I agreed to it last night. And then when I didn't want to do it because I didn't want to be on video, he called me a dick. Bastard.)
So I have to make myself look pretty (well, as close as I can get) for the interview.
Just finished the interview. It was ok. I just really don't want it to be shown to his class.
Like I've been saying, Blix's whole purpose in life rests on his ability to keep the inspections going. He loses his job as well as his position of prominence if he's too forthright about how Iraq hasn't been forthcoming. I've questioned his objectivity all along, and this looks like it further calls it into question.
Update: I just listened to an interview on Fox News with the London Times reporter who broke this story, and he made a very good point that's worth repeating. Blix doesn't want to feel he's responsible for starting a war, so he's been doing everything he can to downplay Saddam's non-compliance. This may just be the most extreme example.
Quick point:
I often listen to Rush on the radio on my way to School. Lately, he's been saying that he just doesn't get why the administration went through this lengthly process with the U.N., when they must have realized that it would be a waste of time.
I can only come to one conclusion. After listening to Bush's news conference the other night, he made it clear that this is a test for the U.N. He said something to the effect of "This will determine whether what the security council says has any meaning". If the security council fails the test, it will free the administration up to more quickly, with less diplomatic hangups, fulfill the mission it has planned.
We'll be able to stop pretending that the U.N. has any relevance, and focus our energies in more productive ways. Rush has pointed out that if this is the plan, then we'd better actually do that, because if we start going back to the U.N. again that gives them credence and makes them relevant. We're going to have to essentially withdrawl from the U.N. It'll be interesting to watch how this plays out.

I will learn to fly someday.

Now while it is slightly more difficult to write this:
echo $x . "<BR>";
But the net benefit of this is roughly a 50% speed up.
I went to sleep before 9pm this evening. Whenever I go to sleep before midnight, it seems, my body only thinks I'm napping, and it wakes me up within hours. I woke up, and I thought "Ok, it has to be after 1 in the morning at least", but it was only 11:30!
I think I fell asleep again real quick, and I had a dream that I wanted to check what time it was, but the backlight in my alarm clock didn't work. So I was all mad, and trying to bang it to get it to work. I was sitting up in my bed, and banging the damn thing on the wall when I woke up. I had to hit the light on my alarm to be sure it was a dream. It was still 5 before midnight.
I was going to watch The Matrix to pass the time, but I realized that I can practically play the entire movie back in my head, so that idea lost a little bit of its appeal. Sigh.
