I went hiking today with my pal Justin. He went twice. I was with him on the second time, to Harriman State Park. He has some great pictures from his trip to Ramapo (though they're tiny and he doesn't provide bigger versions), and hopefully later he'll have up some of the pics from Harriman.
Woo, Ninjai will be back "any day now"!
You'll be happy to hear that Ninjai will be back online any day now! We wanted to give you a heads-up to the fact that there will be some limited advertising preceding each chapter--however we've made sure that the ads will be relatively short (in fact, the majority of ads will be less than 15 seconds and the ads before the longest chapters will be no more than 30 seconds).
We're really sorry we had to go this route, but we didn't have any choice. Coming up with $20,000 a month for bandwidth was way too much for us. Since the number of visitors was increasing so drastically, our costs would have increased much further--far beyond our fundraising capabilities.
We were courted by two highly respected broadband entertainment providers who wanted to be affiliated with Ninjai. After negotiating with them for months to see how best to maintain the mood and vibe of our Ninjai presentations, we decided to partner with AtomShockwave. Like you, the people at AtomShockwave are big Ninjai fans and they've put really a lot of effort into presenting Ninjai in the highest quality and to as many people as possible.
$20,000! Jeez.
Via Hosting Matters' forum, check out CGIProxy. Seems like a useful thing to have available.
Via The Leaky Cauldron, Slate has a great political toon by Jeff Stahler involving Harry Potter and Hillary Clinton.
Oh, and only 11 more days until Harry Potter book 5. Woo!
I just noticed that a new version of SharpReader has been released. I haven't even been using the aggregator because I let my list of feeds get out of hand. I have to pare everything down to a level I can keep up with. I'm going through all my feeds and creating "One" and "Two" categories. "One" being for feeds I tend to keep up with. I shouldn't fall behind on those feeds. The "Two" category is for everything else -- sites I like and want to have in my aggregator, but probably produce too much content for me to keep up with
.
Unfortunately, my blogroll code is only meant to handle one level of categories. So I'll have to come up with a new scheme for one or the other.
