Small change to this site

Simon links to Scribbling.net, which has some good tips on things you can do to make your web site better and how to help Googlebot understand your site better.

I've already implemented his suggestion on making the post title a permalink. It's a good idea. I'm probably also going to tell robots not to index my daily and monthly weblog pages. Even if I get more search results because people searching for words happen to get a page where the words are unrelated because they're in different posts, I'd rather only show up for searches when the text within a weblog post matches the search words.

While I nearly always prefer underlines on links all the time, for some reason I really don't care for titles as permalinks. Though I suppose they would look OK if they were styled to look like normal non-link text.

Yeah, that's what I did. The only time you'll notice the difference is when you put your mouse over the title and it turns into a hand.

I'm still seeing underlines in Firebird 0.6/Windows.

You're probably still using a cached version of my stylesheet. Try refreshing the page.

Interesting... /category/ was never meant to be a page on its own, that's why it doesn't work. I'll do something with that though, thanks. I'll probably forward it to the main archive page.
