Dog picture!

I just found this picture of my dog while going through old e-mail. Just thought I'd share Smiley

My dog Patty!

Palm software

Now that I ordered a cable, I'll be able to put software on my Palm. So I'm looking for good software. I'll start keeping a list here, but if anyone could recommend any good software, free or otherwise, please do.

DiddleBug

DiddleBug is an application for the Palm family of handheld computers. It is similar to a yellow-sticky note in that it allows you to scribble information onto your Palm device using digital ink. You can set alarms for each note from a pop-up list, and DiddleBug will not let you forget your reminder.

Hands High Software seems to have some good software, including ThoughtManager, an "outliner and information organizer". Also see ListMaker from Synergy Solutions, who also has a lot of other good looking software.

I want to get something where I can download books and read them on my Palm. A searchable Bible would be really neat too, though it would probably take up too much space.

TealScript, Graffiti replacement.

Replacing the standard Graffiti system, TealScript, from TealPoint Software, offers an improved, tunable text recognition system for truly personalized text data entry.

TealPoint also has a buttload of other software, including TealDoc which lets you read .doc files on your Palm.

Check out Pimlico Software and their DateBk line of calendaring software.

Iambic seems to have some good programs, including their Agendus program.

OMG, OmniRemote, from Pacific Neo-Tek turns your Palm into a universal remote!

There are some scientific calculators available, including PawCalc from PawEng. PawLogic looks neat too. Also check out EasyCalc, and this list of Palm calculators.

I'd really like to get a simple program that'll let me stick a metronome on my Palm. Hey, here is one! Check out TuneIt, by the creator of EasyCalc.

Check out BigClock a freeware clock with a lot of features.

And of course... games! You usually don't want "action" games on a PDA... get a Game Boy (who designed their site?! It's horrible.) for that. But for a PDA, games like solitaire or other puzzle games are perfect. Check out smallWare who has some free solitaire games. Don't check them out. Their software crashed my Palm and made me have to do a full reset. And Tangrams, a visual puzzle game. Also check out Scott Ludwig's Palm software for Railroad, a solitaire card game, and Pocket Express for a whole bunch of traditional games like Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Lode Runner (!) and Tetris!

Linker looks good. It lets you create hyperlinks between things in your Palm... so if you have an appointment with a contact, you can create a link to the contact in your datebook item.

Software sites:

Also check out PalmGear's Essentials

You may also want to check out A5, a "weekly" view, Today, which gives a view like "Outlook Today" showing everything you have to do, and Newpen which lets you write Graffiti on the screen.

Organized Ink looks like a neat way to take quick notes.

You may be a fundamentalist atheist if....:

You think you arrived at your position because you are a free-thinker who rationally weighed the evidence, and then freely chose atheism over theism. YET, you also believe that your thinking and actions are nothing more than the FIXED reactions of the atoms in your brain that are governed by the Laws of Chemistry and Physics.

Video game remixes!

So cool! Video game remixes.
