I now have a Palm

Well, I now have a brand new (to me) Palm IIIe. Hi-tech Smiley Hey, beggars can't be choosers right? My friend was nice enough to give me his old Palm as a gift. I'm now entering my school schedule into it.

The only thing I'm generally annoyed about now is that I have information duplicated everywhere. I have my address book (mainly for e-mail addresses) in Outlook Express, I have everyone's phone numbers in my cell phone, and now I'm going to have to enter everything (manually, since he didn't have the cradle) into my Palm. I'll have some information in three places, which seems kind of crazy. I suppose if I make the Palm the only "official" place for addresses, I can cut duplication down to just e-mail addresses and phone numbers...

Cool, now I get to configure my Palm the way David Allen suggests (PDF).

I'd recommend Ebay for a cradle, it seems well worth the $5 or $10

Thanks. If my friend can't find his cradle, I'll probably just wind up buying a new cable from Palm. Both of those auctions went up to around 15 bucks, by the way, and the new cable is $20.

That's ok. I love the Palm. I just ordered that cable and downloaded the software. Now I'll be able to write programs to sync my e-mail program and my Palm if I want Smiley Or maybe if the Palm software's good enough I won't need to.

I entered all my classes for school in it, so now I can do the weekly view and when I click on one of the greyed out areas it shows me the class and what room it's in. Good stuff.
