I've that problem with Manila, that's why I've not been posting much. Every time I want to write something big, I have to write it out on paper. However, considering that I'm rather scatty in real life, and I have stacks and stacks of writings that never get sorted, there's a whole heap of half-finished blog posts sitting in the bedroom of my flat that should be online!

Gack! If only there was an easy way to pull my archives out of Manila! Damn lock-in!

Keith G, Radio 7 had a plug-in tool called "TheXmlFiles" that could download your entire site to (non-well formed) XML and image files.

The XML isn't real XML, though, as there are character encoding issues if you've ever used curly-quotes in a post (whether intentionally or accidentally.)

I think I have the trial version of Radio 7 and the plug-in still on my PC somewhere. I don't know if they are still available from UserLand or not, but feel free to contact me if you can't find them anywhere else and want to pull down your site. (I have some contact email address on flangy.com).

I know about that, but the thing is that I (for various reasons) can't install it anywhere.

Still, I'm half thinking of closing down my blog on hereticmessiah.weblogs.com and moving it over to talideon.com. Still, I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble.
