(Second reaction) Maybe there was good reason for opposing that particular amendment. It was purely down party lines, according to that article... what was the larger bill it was part of? Maybe it was inappropriate for that bill? That "news analysis" was so obviously biased it's frustrating. It didn't do any real analysis of the circumstances of that bill or the amendment, and just resorted to Bush and Republican bashing.
