Girls, please don't get breast implants. While channel surfing last night, I came across one of those surgery shows where they were showing someone getting breast implants. First of all... gross. But second of all, they don't look natural. They just don't. Your boobs stick out straight. Seriously, just don't get breast implants.
If anyone knows of a list of search engine URL syntaxes, please tell me. It'll save me a lot of time, rather than having to go to every search engine, put in a query myself, and decipher what's in it. I want to do this both for my script that lists my referrers, and for a version of something similar to Google Hilite that will work with search engines in addition to Google.
Via Simplelinks, Blurbs: Writing Previews of Web Pages.
On the web, a blurb is a line or short paragraph (20-50 words) that evaluates (or at least summarizes) what the reader will find at the other end of a link. A good blurb should inform, not tease. ...this document will help you write the content.
The Internet would be a much friendlier place if it had more (and better) blurbs. Blurbs may be short, but that doesn't mean they are easy to write.
Tim Bray has a great intro to the many Unicode encodings. I certainly learned a lot, and gained some respect for Unicode. I always get the impression that Unicode is a huge pain, and that it wasn't designed as well as it could have been. I wonder what was done wrong.
