I've been bitten by them twice now and will never again buy a TB product. I bought the original Tropez way back when, couldn't get it to work with Windows 95. "Upgraded" to the Tropez+, couldn't get it to work with DirectX. Or something like that. I know that I have a Tropez and a Tropez+ in my junk bin. TB seems to think that what they sold you works with the OS that was out at the time, and when you upgrade you need a new card. Bah.

You can pick up a Soundblaster card dirt cheap nowadays anyway. The PCI 512, or Live! line of cards are really inexpensive if you don't care all that much about it (judging by the fact you have an old Turtle Beach card, I'd say you don't), and the new Audigy 2 line is pretty good, if slightly pricey.

I had a very similar problem on my 98 SE machine at home. Actually I think I still have the problem unless my brothers fixed it. Blame microsoft and go out and get a new soundcard.

Welcome to the silent world. I have the same problem on my Win2K box (actually I had sound once upon a time and it just mysteriously vanished never to be heard again).
Sigh.
