Yet again, others are able to say the right things much better than I can. Check out what John has to say about civilian casualties
Now all that being said, I'm tired of listening to people carp about civilian casualties in this war who never cared about how many people Saddam wiped out before we arrived on the scene. In fact, I find these people in the anti-war crowd who display this faux concern about Iraqi civilians to be sickeningly hypocritical. Did they ever show the slightest bit of concern when Saddam Hussein slaughtered the people of Iraq by the tens of thousands to hold onto power? Yet, when Coalition forces accidentally kill Iraqi civilians in an effort to liberate Iraq, the smallest fraction of the number that Saddam has, these same people feign outrage. They're oh so concerned about the Iraqi people...as long as they can use them as a club to attack George Bush &/or America with. If Saddam Hussein would have somehow remained in power, the anti-war activists would have forgotten about the Iraqi people like they never existed -- just like they did with Vietnamese once America left the scene. Maybe these people should think about how many Iraqi civilians would have died this year if they'd gotten their way and left the "Butcher of Baghdad" in power....
Hey, now that I've implemented the Weblog APIs, and my weblog code is basically good, maybe it's time for me to start working on a wiki to integrate into my CMS . I can't wait.
Other features I need in my CMS in general, though, are pretty important. I need a general form posting and validation framework, and I need a freaking administration interface or framework.
Hmmm... one more thing I need for my weblog is back and forth links for most types of pages.
Ok, I'm done testing the Weblog APIs. I've implemented the following methods for my blog:
- Blogger API
- blogger.getUsersBlogs
- blogger.newPost
- blogger.editPost
- blogger.getPost
- blogger.deletePost
- blogger.getRecentPosts
- metaWeblog API
- metaWeblog.newPost
- metaWeblog.editPost
- metaWeblog.getPost
- metaWeblog.getRecentPosts
- metaWeblog.getCategories
I really hate how all the stupid methods aren't documented in any one place. I've had to keep a list.
I'm using w.bloggar to post this. It works pretty well, except for two things:
- when doing a metaweblog.getPost, it doesn't recognize the list of categories. I've checked the XML I'm sending over, and from what I can tell it's the same as it's supposed to be but it's not taking it.
- Even though there's an option for multiple categories in the "Account properties", there's only support in the user interface for one category at a time. So that means that I can only post entries from w.bloggar with one category. Not so much of a limitation, but if I try to edit entries with more than one category, I'll lose all but one.
Anyway, one of the side-effects of this process is that now my XML-RPC code is up to date and integrated with my CMS. Now all I have to do is add some features and make sure everything works right and then I can release version 3. I couldn't work on the code before now because I wasn't able to use it for anything since it wasn't up to date with my CMS.
Does anyone else get requests on their site for "/sumthin"? I get it fairly frequently, and from different hosts. Anyone know what this is?

The antiwar movement was a fad for moral lightweights eager to portray themselves as heroes.
Also, make sure you check out Mark's awesome response to an anonymous loser. It's awesome... he did what I couldn't Thanks Mark!
