Blogroll

I'm contemplating having a blogroll. I've always had a sort of blogroll on my start page, but that's not as good as having one on your homepage. With Google, blogrolls are a sort of currency. Every permanent link to someone is worth a lot in Google's ranking. So I feel like I'm not being a "responsible member of the blogging community" by not having one. I'll take other people's links, which improve my Google ranking and give me traffic from other sites, etc., but I won't do the same for others...

See, I don't have a place in my layout for one... I also don't use software that automatically manages it, which I assume MT and Radio do. If anything, whenever I improve my aggregator enough for it to be good, I'd use that to generate my blogroll.

Mt doesn't have any software to manage the blogroll that we have on MT website in the non-mysql installation... the mysql instalation might, but I sort of doubt it...

radio does, though I don't know anything about it really... you might wan to sign up for blogrolling.com's service

MT doesn't do anything to help manage a blogroll. However, I'm using AmphetaDesk (http://www.disobey.com/amphetadesk/) as my aggregator. I wrote an opml2html.pl script that extracts by blog subscriptions (stored in myChannels.opml) and writes an SSI that PHP can include on the fly in my blog.

umm what about that blank space down the left hand side?

Yeah, the space on the left was pretty much for the "intra-site" nav - just for my pages. Although if I put some headings to clearly delineate what's what, then maybe I will use that space.
