Mark Pilgrim: Cycle

0xDECAFBAD: "(Oh, and P.S.: Can you people please stop using those "photographer standing on a stool over a model looking up" posed images? It really doesn't convey hip, cool, or clever.)" - yeah!

Via dive into mark, check out the new Wallace and Gromit short. Yaaaaay!

Via Sender Traumwind, a link to Girder, which sounds very interesting:

Girder is a program that can take any input ( keyboard, remote control, internet ) and translate that into actions on your computer. These actions can be for example controlling winamp, a DVD player or shutting down windows. Of couse there are many, many more things that you do. Furthermore Girder has an plugin infrastructure so you can extend the functionallity of Girder if so desired! See the download page for the extensive list of plugins written by various people from all over the globe!

Via Dean Carlson, redheads are more susceptible to pain?

Blogging with Mister Wright:

In showing the kids the cells and how all these cells magically fit together to create a living person, I was struck with a truth. How are people able to ignore the power of God, when his very creation has His fingerprints all over it. Biologists work with God's creation yet some deny the creator's existance. How amazing. There is no amount of data that could make me believe that the earth, animals, and people was created randomly, accidently. The microscope allowed us to take pictures of what we were looking at.

Emily: "This is the coolest thing that has ever happened to me on a computer. Wow."

Via WHEDONesque, Cassie's web site from Buffy tonight. (Only works in IE. seems to work in Mozilla (Phoenix) too. Maybe they fixed it.) Also check this out.

"My background's in Internet marketing and entertainment," Buchanan says, "and I was like, 'Yeah!' That pretty much did it. We had 70,000 hits in two days."

With help from Web designer Brian Beery, Buchanan wanted the site to be "very realistic. So, when we registered the domain name, www.cassienewton.com , we registered it as Cassie Newton and gave her an address in Sunnydale. Everything we did was in her name, because we knew 'Buffy' fans would dig, and they did."

"They're like, 'Wow, Cassie lives on 13 Shadow Lane, that's so ominous.' And Rebecca was like, 'Shadow Lane? I don't remember writing that.' I said, 'Yeah, that's because I gave it to her.'"

"We set it up on Geocities, a free Web site, which now has become less than free. We've had so many hits that I'm having to pay."

To date, Buchanan says he has a "phone book full" of guest-book postings and hundred of e-mails sent to Cassie.

Right now, there are no immediate plans to take down the site -- partly because Cassie might make a return appearance.

"She's so great," says Kirshner of her creation, "and Azura Skye is amazing. On a show like 'Buffy,' there's always a possibility that the dead can live. I'm crossing my fingers."

Azura Skye is cool. I couldn't remember where I had seen her... my brother remembered she was on Zoe, Duncan, Jack, and Jane.

"We were just talking about it this morning," he says. "Wouldn't it be nice if Dawn had a Web site?"
