CMS progress

My CMS is progressing well (though slowly). I'll update this post later tonight with a sneak peak at my new CMS-driven weblog page. It'll look similar to my current site - so don't expect anything drastic. However, the URLs will most likely be different, so you'll be able to tell some difference at least.

Ok, I'm not going to post it later tonight - and I may not post it tomorrow either I thought I might be able to go as far as replacing my old weblog system with my CMS-driven one by tomorrow. That's not going to happen, since a lot of the other pieces that were baked into my weblog, like comments, RSS feed generation, and my XML-RPC interface, are all going to be separate components in my CMS. So, I have to write those parts first.

Do you need someone to beta test your CMS?

I'm about to redesign Redland, and your approach might be what I'm lookin' for.

Hey, I'd love to offer up my CMS for you to use, both for your benefit and mine in getting feedback. Unfortunately, this is a pretty big project, and it may be a while before it's really ready to release. I think it is coming along really well, but it's just not there yet.

Yeah, the majority of that is working out how I planned. Some features, if they make it in at all, won't be in the first version, namely caching (apart from anything Smarty does), and revisions. I'm also not using database abstraction, but instead concentrating on MySQL.
