Mark Pilgrim was nice enough to tell me that there's been a change to the <link> tag for RSS auto-discovery.The <link> tag should now look like:
<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS" href="YOUR RSS FILE" />
I've been working on my RSS aggregator (coming along dandy, now that my XML parser is finally working like it should), and I'm trying to figure out how I should design it.
For instance, I'd clearly only want to give myself a view of all new and updated items since the last time I checked the feed. However, there's nothing in RSS that signifies when an individual post was created or modified. NewsIsFree seems to do a darn good job of figuring out what is new; I want to find out how they do it. In fact, one of the reasons I'm making this post is to see how and when it shows up on NewsIsFree
