Second, your response is typical "you". Simple denial without any counter argument.
Via Banana Counting Monkey, here's a link to another article from the National Post, which contains this statement:
Reid Morden, a former CSIS director, said terrorist organizations operating in Canada would likely avoid attacking local targets because the groups quietly benefit from lax Canadian laws.
"If you're raising money [for a terrorist organization], this is the place to do it," he said. "You put all that in jeopardy by walking into a supermarket with a suicide bomb. We know that there is substantial terrorist presence in Canada, and I think that [terrorists] are going to be very reluctant to take away the one place where they have, in some ways, been left to themselves."
The Canadian Security Intelligence Service seems to be the Canadian equivalent to the CIA -- this quote is coming from one of their former directors. Seems like a pretty reliable source to me.

Well, this is about all I can put up with. First you insult me, and then you quote a National Post article, without knowing what it is. It is seen as most of Canada as nothing but the expressions of it's owner, which no one, not even his employees, respects. CSIS is a joke. They are a worthless agency who cannot even prevent their own agent's defecting with months of very obvious signs. They have been reduced in funding to the point of virtual non existence. As for my 'rhetoric', I would only reply with pointing out that your blog has deteriorated into nothing quoting of unreliable sources on subjects you know nothing about, and rhetoric repeating that put out by 'leaders' who cannot get beyond their own political interests and pathetic selfishness.
You have become nothing but a propaganda machine. You have made yourself the one blog I refuse to read unless there is absolutely nothing else to read, and this post, on top of the other posts which intentionally ignore the facts about your own government and those you support while attacking anyone who disagree's with you or your positions. In other word's your blog has become useless to me, and would be for anyone with any sense of logic, morals and decency. I can no longer link to a site that purports loosely know stories from other blogger's with even less reliability as fact when it is at best fiction of the worst variety. Good bye.

I totally agree with Geek. Are you a watcher of Fox News Keith? Because they lie all the time. They even said at one time that the American gov. actually /found/ weapons of mass destruction.
Every country has it's sore points, and yes, Canada has some pretty nasty trained guys under it's belt, but America has far more. Germany. France. Hell, Australia was a giant jail for killers and rapists. Yes, we have a few nasties, but everybody does. The point is that we have /less/ then anybody else.
You can go to virtually any country in the world with an American flag on your back and get egged. A Canadian on the other hand is treated with /incredable/ hospitality everywhere. Obviously the rest of the world is seeing something you're not. Backpacking across Europe I came across several Americans that were trying to pass off as Canadian (and failing), and I can bet you know why.
I suggest a movie by Michael Moore, Bowling for Columbine. I understand that he tends to twist thigs, but when a fact is a fact, then that's it. He does some comparitive work between Canada and Americans, such as talking to some black people that have visited, official numbers of guns here and there, and more. You'll be shocked, I know I was, and I /already/ hated your government.

Is that from personal experience? Because I've heard and seen lots to the contrary.
Anyway, the rest of your post is the typical pro-Michael Moore, anti-Fox News reactionary crap, which makes it really hard to take you seriously. Let's go back to the point, as quoted in the main post:
Through negligence and indifference, the Canadian government has permitted virtually every major terrorist organization in the world to operate within its borders. Canada's failure to disrupt the terrorists on its soil has resulted in major security problems for Canada's neighbours and some of its closest allies.
And that's absolutely true. Canada has been a safe-haven for terrorists, and that's bad. It's significant that you focused on everything else besides Canada in your "response" to this post. This isn't about "nasty trained guys" that Canada has (I don't know where you got that from). It's about Canada allowing terrorists to operate within its borders with impunity.
So what? wrote:
What you gonna do? bomb us like everyone else? I would have cared 3 years ago but after all the States has done Im sick and tired of it all. So... what you're saying is that I'm talking about a topic that was relevant at the time, and still is. and that's a bad thing how? And yes, personal experience. The only place I've ever been treated badly for being a Canadian was at a restarunt in Navada. Notice? U.S.A.
Second, I got that 'nasty trained guys' thing from what you said. I was trying to read between the lines and understand you, but if you were just posting on a whim originally... well, that's hardly my fault.
And as 'So What' just said, do what you want in your country, but don't bitch about our until you've lived here three years or more. Until that point you're sprouting as much propaganda as anybody else here- and believe me, there is a lot.

So, you're invoking national sovereignty on me to tell me that I shouldn't tell you not to allow terrorists to operate freely within your country. Great.
Keith (http://keithdevens.com/) wrote:
I'd like to take something back. I shouldn't have said anything about this topic being old, because you're right; this topic is still relevant. Canada still hasn't done anything to crack down on terrorists operating within its borders.

Hmmm.. and America still haven't impeached their war-criminal president.
Bloody hell, I guess people deserve the president they get.
By the way, here in europe, we hate Bush. We hate the war in Iraq.
In general, Europe believes that the USA should start sorting itself out instead of attacking other countries for made-up and insufficient reasons.
Oh -- and if you're gonna cry about terrorists, tell YOUR govt to stop funding them, training them, and selling them WMD.
Canada is a progressive, multi-cultural and libertarian state. in general, an example for all other nations. The USA is a another kind of example, sort of a "what not to do"...

Thanks flakie.
And I'm quoting you here Keith, you just said, "me to tell me that I shouldn't tell you not to allow terrorists to operate freely within your country. Great."
You have no idea what Canadians are doing over here. You have no idea what's going on anywhere but your own country. You know that the SAT's Americans get? A Canadian can pass them at grade 8, it's only the wording that makes them hard. The plain and simple fact is that you're a regular joe, with a regular American education, and you don't know what's happening over here.
Try to remember that this is /not/ your country. You don't get any say in what's going on here. It's not really about national sovereignty, it's about that fact that as an American you know shit about us, so why should you get a say?
Bush sat back while the terrorists were plotting. As flakie said, why hasn't he been impeached? It's stupid, and so is he. He's spent over 60% of his time in office on vacation. No joke, literal fact. He told his information people, and I quote, "I don't want to hear any more about the terrorists." He did NOTHING to protect the country that had voted him in.
Worse? Half your country /didn't/ vote Bush in. In over 13 states 90% of the black population was told they couldn't vote. Literally thousands of complaints came in, but nothing was done about it. Not even for the people who had no criminal record and had lived in the USA for over three generations. Hell, people threw tomatoes at him when he was going up to the white house as president for the first time.
Your country has done nothing to stop the criminals from wandering in whenever they feel like it. Hell, the Bid Laden family was given a free plane ride out of the country when the trouble began. Nobody even questioned them- on Bush's orders.
And yet you shove this filth on the net, complaining about the one country on earth that has never even had a civil revolution? Hell, when we were still slightly even under the British government in 1812, we burned down the white house. No joke. And yet any info you can get from your gov. about it was that there was 'slight damage'? The whole thing was gone! That was when they painted it white, to cover the scorch marks that took over the entire building!
Your Fox news actually told you at one time that they /found/ weapons of mass destruction in Iraq when they didn't. Then when they had to post the retraction, it was in itty-bitty little words at the bottom of the screen for 1 minute. War mongering.
You block trade of beef with Canada after 1 incident of Mad Cow, yet Japan has over 50 a yr. What the hell is with that? I will tell you: The American gov was mad we wouldn't join them in a war, even though there was no proof at all, and we had signed several treaties saying we wouldn't. Then, they get mad when we say no, and they're out to get us any way they can.
We have done NOTHING wrong to your gov. We have done NOTHING wrong to your people. YOUR government is corrupt, petty, and unfair to any who don’t do what they say, when they say without question. So don't tell /me/ that Canada is the one in the wrong, because there is proof piled on top of proof, piled on top of even more that the American government is simply one self serving bastards with a lot of guns. If you want to tell us how to ‘fix’ our problem with terrorists, get your own ass out of the fire first.
Again, Thanks flakie.

I think you should look at some facts before you go saying stuff about Canada, first we don't have terrist organisations working, not as much as the states. You should look at your own country before you start saying something about mine. Like the fact that America loves to shove their noses were no one wants it, or the fact that America's fighting with everyone they can. Or maybe you should look at the good things canada does, like clean up after your god damn messes in other countries. Why do Americans always try to put down everyone else, maybe that's why no one likes you guys? Ever thought of that? The only good thing that comes out of America is the music, and that sucks most of the time. Canadians are loved almost everywhere they go, because we help, and don't try to push our ways on other peoples. Just because your country is being attacked by everyother country, doesn't mean you can blame it on canada. Last time I checked, America was the one trying to take over everyone, and making wars over "Weapons of mass destruction" that just happen to be invisible. Sorry to be rude, but you started it. Maybe you should turn a new leaf and shut up about canada, and everyone else for that matter. Maybe if your having a problem with terrisim, you should leave other countries alone, and maybe , just maybe, they won't hate you so much.

If you hate us so much then stay north of the border.

wtf canada is the best country in the world. Wat u saying is complete lies. A rumor in America about terrisoists in canada is false . In fact ppl say ur "president" knew about 911. Secind of all in the record of most devastating man-made attacks japan ranks first (can't remenber the event) Canada 2nd (halifax explosion) 3rd russia ( nuclear power plant explosion) 4th America (911). Also canada has more respect then u amercian pigs because canada helps out evry county. America started an illegal war and its still happening. And without canada America is very weak because cnada ships more exports to America then any other country in the world (combined). Canada (england at the time) was in s9ewat way the victors of the war of 1812. Mainly because britan was tired of fighting america nd the french (in europe) america caught wind of 10000 british troops from britan (eniugh to finish them) so they took britans weariness to advantage and made a peace treaty. canada is and always will be better than America
James (http://www.dragonmount.com) wrote:
Ok...firstly, let me say that I havn't been to Canada, and I travelled to the USA once before. I hail from Australia, and I have a few things to say.
Firstly, please check some time to visit this site http://www.danielpipes.org/search/?searchtext=canada&submit=1&submit=Search
the main site is www.danielpipes.org he is extremely qualified in the war on terror and islamic terrorist activities in both the us, and partially in canada and europe.
I recieve his newsletters as they are very informative, well sourced and quite convincing. After reading them, I have drawn the following conclusions:
That the Western world really need to wake up and begin to really fight this war on islamic terrorism.
That there is some reluctance by most countries to accept the reality of a post september 11th world.
That Islamic Terrorist is far more crafty, clever, ruthless and widespread then what was first believed. It is not to be trusted or bargined with.
Now, I am quite open to your thoughts, as i believe it is wise not to be so quick to make a judgement. I see wrong by both the canadians and the americans, and namecalling will not solve the current crisis we face. Also for the record, Australia was settled by mostly convicts. These convicts were charges not as mostly 'rapists and murderers' as it was said previously, but for petty crimes like stealing a loaf of bread to survive. Please do not cast such degrading ignorant sterotypes in the future, as i see you accuse the american of ignorance yourself...it would do you will to also be alittle more educated in a coutnries history to make such a sweeping claim without first reading. I myself actually hail from free settlers and noble houses that went to Australia on their own free will. To say that my ansestors are either 'rapists or murders' would be highly offensive.
But I am moving off topic here. I think Keith is feeling what alot of Westerners are feeling. A feeling of fear, of being threatened. What is at stake? Two main things, the Western way of life, such as the many personal freedoms enjoyed by the West that many cultures elsewhere have not advanced far enough to embrace all these things. The second is facing a threat to the 'white' race, for want of a better word. Basically we are seeing all around the West a gradual but sure decline in 'white' people, and a rise in others. In small, manageable numbers this is ok, but I do believe that the concept of multiculturalism is flawed; that it is founded on the basis that all cultures are of a benefit to the community. I'm sorry, but the Islamic view that a women has no soul, that she was created merely for the pleasure of man and various other social divides that basically have allowed islamic coutnries to enslave their female population in the name of their backward religion is in NO way beneficial to the West. I believe that Islam may have had honourable roots in the Qu'ran, but the Hadeeth (the prophet Muhommad's teachings) is certainly thick with extreme bigotry and bias. I have a theory, that Islam has becoem corrupted by the man that is called Prophet Muhommad. Again, i saythat I am open to new things, and if anyone has substancial proof or evidence to say otherwise, then i am more than happy to change my view. However, as it stands, I see a clash of cultures here, between an advances West and a medievil Middle East.
for an interesting website with former muslims explaining why they left islam, go to www.secularislam.org
look at http://www.secularislam.org/testimonies/index.htm for the testimonies, with various quotes from either the Qu'ran or the Hadeeth that will leave you shocked.
Well, I grow tired, so I will end this post. Please give me a reply, btu only after looking at what soruces I have indicated (and i mean actually read them, not look quickly). I am willing to hear any sensible reponse out.

Hmm. Who trained Ossama bin Laden? Who helped the Taliban take control of Afghanistan? Who was negotiating with the Taliban just weeks before 09.11? Hmm, could it be the US? Most of what you quote is wrong and completely pathetically twisting of the facts. Canada are peacekeepers, nothing more. We are not financiers of war, nor are we all terrorists, which was accused in the hours and days after 09.11. I truly hope you do not belive this complete bull shit. If so, then you really need to find better sources.
