Man, two repeat episodes of Buffy, and no episode of Smallville tonight. It's probably because women's figure skating is on tonight. This totally ruins my TV week. Oh, and instead of normally scheduled viewing on the WB tonight, they're showing the WitchBlade "movie" (in other words, the pilot). That show was pretty good, and the first season finale did one of the most amazing things I've ever seen any series do. I'd probably watch the show if it wasn't on TNT (I don't even know what channel that is), and if it wasn't on the same time as Buffy is. Oh, and I disagree with Dwight... season 4 of Buffy was pretty good (that's where the reruns are on FX right now).
Update, I just saw a commercial for WitchBlade... TNT is channel 37, but it's not on opposite Buffy, it's on opposite Angel on Monday nights.
On MetaFilter, a link to this article on Slate (again Slate, you rock for having permanent URLs), Unintelligible Redesign, "This is the way creationism ends. Not with a bang, but with a whimper." The article seems to be saying that Intelligent Design is a cop out... Another thing for me to read in the bath, if I ever get to take it
The guy on MetaFilter hails this as the death of creationism, and talks about how creationism is a "threat". Sounds odd to me... I guess it is a threat to your own vision of autonomy.
I really like this comment, it's about creationism, but I'd swear he was talking about evolution! "It is essentially a post-hoc explanation of [some] existing data which cannot provide any testable predictions. Scientifically it belongs in the same bin as most new age mysticism and paranormal beliefs."
Update... the article was actually right on in some ways, but overall was very offensive. The author was either very careless with words, or more likely, was very shrewd in his choice of words. He equated creationists with the Taliban!
