Today is Ronald Regan's birthday. He's 91. I heard on the news that that's the oldest any president has ever lived. Unfortunately, the news also said that his Alzheimer's is so bad that he doesn't recognize Nancy anymore. He's sleeping later every day and staying up for a shorter time every day. Smiley frowning

Yeah! I spoke to someone at Borders over the phone tonight, and he called me Bro, not Ma'am, Bro!

Ok, I've been trying to find out the name of a song forever. I first heard it when a Winter Guard used it for their show years ago. I don't think I thought about it much until I started hearing it every few days in the background of a commercial for New York Presbyterian Hospital. They've had different commercials, but they've used the song in the background for a long time. A while ago I actually got in touch with someone from NYP's marketing dept and asked her what it was. She told me she'd get back to me and never did Smiley frowning

Recently, I tried again, and thanks to Elizabeth in their marketing department I now have the CD! It's by the Palladian Ensemble, and the song is "Diverse Bizzarie Sopra La Vecchia Sarabanda O Pur Ciaconna". The CD is An Excess of Pleasure, and the song is the third track (they have a sound sample). Here it is at Amazon and at Allegro Music. The song is on this CD too, but they spelled it wrong Smiley

Good stuff. Thanks Elizabeth!

Miguel responds to Stallman. Story on Slashdot.

You can really tell which days I have a lot of classes by how many weblog entries I post Smiley

Good episode of Smallville tonight. Funny puns during the episode:

"Clark, what do you want to do when you grow up?"
"Oh, I dunno. As long as it doesn't involve dressing up in a suit and flying around a lot."

"Lex, what gets me is that these guys used to be friends. Do you think something like that could happen to us?"
"Clark, our relationship will be legendary."

(Not so sure about the exact wording of the second one.)

Anyway, Superman found out tonight that he's impervious to bullets! They actually bruised him, but didn't puncture his skin. Though they'll really have to explain eventually why the "meteor rocks" keep causing strange transformations in people.

Smallville is turning into a really good show. Good writers, good characters (Lex is awesome), and a great premise. I actually look forward to watching Smallville on Tuesdays more than I look forward to Buffy. It's a good break, actually. After I'm all depressed at how crappy Buffy has become I then get to watch a good show about a superhero Smiley
