Firefly, one more time

And for those who are wondering if maybe we reworked the pilot -- for certainly what you saw can't have been what Fox insisted was too "slow and uninvolving," thereby putting the stink of failure on the show before we ever had a chance to air an ep -- not so much. Joss added the battle scene at the top of the ep, added one or two lines of clarification, but by and large -- yep. That's what Fox didn't want us to air.

By-the-by... after Joss added the battle scenes and tightened throughout and basically answered any problems the network could have had with "Serenity"... from what I understand they never even looked at it. The choice had been made. Stick it on a shelf. I think that was probably a mistake.

The pilot was awesome. Though, since it wasn't shown first, a lot of the stuff that would have been better had I not known anything yet was spoiled a bit. Damn you Fox!!

Son of a bitch

Visual Studio .NET only runs on WinNT 4.0 or higher, not Windows 9x, etc. Aaah. Here I was all happy because I had saved all this money because I was able to get the academic version, and it turns out I actually wasted money because this is now useless to me... now I have to see if I can return it... sigh.

Or... should I spend another hundred dollars to upgrade to Windows XP?

Cross site scripting (where malicious users insert HTML / javascript in to your site in some way that allows them to steal cookies or cause other problems) is an issue that all web developers should understand. It is easy to defend against once you understand the problem.
